Peter Bellot

Dr. Bellot is a native Dominican who immigrated to the US in 1970 and became a US citizen in 1976. He was educated at St. Mary's Academy, Dominica, winning the Island Scholarship in 1964. He earned his undergraduate degree at the University of the West Indies. He went on to the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology there in1976. He held faculty appointments at Mount Sinai, NY, University of Pittsburgh, PA and the University of Cincinnati, OH.

Before coming to RUSM, he served as Director of Anatomical Pathology at Bethesda Hospital in Cincinnati. He has particular interest and research experience in cytology and surgical pathology. He has a great love for teaching and has been awarded several "Best Teacher" awards at RUSM. He is a member of several local and international organizations including the Dominica Medical Association, the College of American Pathologists, theAmerican Association of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), and the Group for Research in Pathology Education (GRIPE). Dr. Bellot lives in Dominica with his wife and three children. His hobbies include photography and music.
