Vicki Coffin

Dr. Coffin has joined Ross in October, 2009 as an Associate Professor in the Pharmacology after spending 20 plus years in drug research, development and licensing in the Pharmaceutical industry. Dr. Coffin has a B.S. in biology from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Oklahoma City, OK. She did her postdoctoral training at Wayne State University School of Medicine and at Harvard Medical School, Southborough MA. Her research focused on adenosine agonists and antagonists actions on behavior, blood pressure and heart rate. She continued her research career at Schering Plough Research Institute and focused on the pharmacological actions of dopamine, acetylcholine, glycine and neurokinins. Besides experience with drug development she also was a Sr. Director for Business Licensing with Schering Corporation and active in licensing with VC Pharma Consulting.

She is a member of the American Society of Neurotherapeutics and the Movement Disorder Society. In addition she is a member in the Licensing Executive Society International and active in their educational program and was a board member of the Healthcare Business Association and Director of Volunteers for 5 years and actively supported the mentoring program.

She has helped develop neuropsychopharmacology curricula for lecture and materials for problem-based learning approaches for small groups.
