Beginning with my undergraduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles I always had an interest in medicine. While fulfilling medical school entrance requirements and studying psychology, I planned to enter medical school immediately after college. Personal and family obligations, however, diverted my path and I subsequently entered the business world. With several years experience in real estate and construction under my belt, the financial rewards were abundant but personal satisfaction had not been attained. I decided to apply to Ross University and seek my ultimate goal. In hindsight, while a significant life change at the time, joining the Ross community was the greatest decision of my life. After successfully attaining my MD degree, I matched into the Internal Medicine residency program at the University of Southern California. The education provided by Ross allowed me to succeed in residency and be appointed as Chief resident, a position I currently hold. I have also matched into an excellent fellowship at the distinguished Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills, California where I will be pursuing sub specialty training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine beginning July, 2011. I hope to eventually specialize in Sleep Medicine after completing fellowship. I believe all these experiences will provide a beneficial asset and point of view for the alumni council.
