Dr. Rhonda McIntyre-Francis is of Dominican nationality. She did her undergraduate degree at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus in Jamaica and graduated in 1985. She worked as a medical officer at the Princess Margaret Hospital before embarking on residency training. She went on to do a four year Residency in Pediatrics at British Columbia Children's hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. She was certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1996. She was also certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 1995. On completion of her training she worked for a short while doing Pediatric consulting both in private as well as hospital practice in Chilliwack, British Columbia. On returning to Dominica in 1997 she joined Ross University as an Associate Clinical Professor in the Introduction to Clinical Medicine Department, and later in 2004 she was responsible for overseeing the Fifth semester program at PMH. In January 2007 she was made Director of the AICM program in Dominica. She has professional affiliations with the following: Dominica Medical Association, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Canada), Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Member of the Carib Neuromyology Association, Member of the Perinatal Antilles network. She holds particular interest in non-profit organizations which raise funds for medical and surgical care for Pediatric patients.
