Paul C. Abney, PhD, has extensive experience working as an educator, researcher, consultant and clinician. His background includes many years as a university professor, and serving as a consultant to education and community human services agencies. Additionally, Dr. Abney has more than two decades of clinical training and experience as a mental health practitioner and addictions counselor.
Raymond F. Adebiyi, PhD, is a Professor of Immunology and Microbiology at Ross University School of Medicine and served for many years as an Associate Dean on the Dominica campus. He began his academic career in Lagos, Nigeria, and moved to the United States as an academic exchange scholar. He completed his undergraduate years at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis from which he graduated with distinction.
Dr. Anique Atherley is a medical doctor from the south of Barbados. Anique completed medical training at the University of the West Indies (The UWI) and medical internship at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados. She then went on to complete, with merit, a master’s degree in public health (epidemiology) from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom. During her internship, she sought out and met Dr. Charles G. Taylor, Jr. who opened her eyes to the field of medical education.
Dr. Sabrina Belle graduated from the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in 2017. She completed her Medical Internship throughout all the major medical specialties at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2018. Dr. Belle continued clinical practice as a Senior House Officer in the Emergency Medicine Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in addition to completing clinical entry exams in the United Kingdom in 2019.
Liris Benjamin, MBBS, MPH, PGDip, PhD, obtained her Doctorate in Physiology (PhD) from the University of West Indies with a thesis in Neurophysiology entitled, ‘Gender and Gonadal Variations Influence Learning Behavior: Interactions of the Mesolimbic Dopaminergic System.” Additionally, she holds a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) and a diploma in Family Medicine from the University of West Indies; and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Guyana.
Dr. Marc Bergeron first obtained B.Sc. degrees in Microbiology and Biology from Université Laval, Canada, followed by a M.Sc. degree in Environmental Sciences from Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Canada, studying the evolutionary ecology of fish parasite assemblages. Following an invertebrate pathology internship at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France, Dr.
Dr. Rakesh Calton completed his MBBS and subsequent post-graduate residency training (MD) from Christian Medical College, India. Dr. Calton is ECFMG certified and has more than 25 years of teaching, clinical research and administrative experience. Besides being a clinician and a medical teacher, Dr. Calton is also an accomplished Healthcare Executive, with an MBA in operations, a Master’s degree in Hospital and Health Systems Management and a Master’s degree in Health Management. Dr.
Dr. Zahi Damuni received his Bachelor of Science and PhD degrees from the University of Dundee in Scotland. He then carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Texas in Austin before moving to the University of South Carolina in Columbia as Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences. In 1993, Dr.
Dr. Stephanie Date was born and raised in Barbados, where she graduated from the University of The West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill, with a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in 2015. Dr. Date became certified and registered with the Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners, and practiced as a Senior House Officer in Ophthalmology and a General Surgery surgical assistant and physician.
