Allison Boucher-Jarvis and Yasmin Nielsen join Ross University

Ross University Names New Vice President of Human Resources And Director of Alumni Relations 

August 1, 2007 – (Edison, N.J.) – Ross University is pleased to announce two significant additions with the hiring of Allison Boucher-Jarvis as vice president of human resources and Yasmin Nielsen as director of alumni relations. 

“Allison and Yasmin will be great assets for Ross University as we continue to expand at our campuses and our corporate office, while simultaneously enhancing the sophistication of our communication efforts with students and alumni,” said Dr. Thomas Shepherd, president of Ross University. 

As vice president of human resources, Ms. Boucher-Jarvis will serve as a member of Ross University’s executive committee, direct all personnel functions for the school, and will be responsible for strategic human resource planning and execution to ensure that Ross continues to attract, hire and retain the best talent possible.  Prior to coming to Ross, she was the interim assistant vice president for human resources and director of employee relations at William Paterson University, where she managed and directed the activities of the human resources, employee relations, payroll/benefits, and professional and organizational development departments.  She also served as the director of employee relations at Ramapo College.  She received a J.D. from Seton Hall University, an M.A. from William Paterson University, and a B.S. from Montclair State College.
 
Ms. Nielsen will direct alumni relations outreach for both the medical and veterinary schools, which will include organizing events such as the upcoming veterinary school alumni reunion in St. Kitts in December 2007, and a planned June 2008 medical school alumni reunion. Additionally, Ms. Nielsen will create and implement strategic programming that will strengthen the Ross alumni community and will work to create two distinct alumni associations that will serve the medical school and veterinary school. Prior to joining Ross, she was the director–alumni relations at the Newark campus of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, responsible for the Rutgers-Newark Alumni Association, The University College-Newark Alumni Association, and the School of Criminal Justice Alumni Association.  She received a B.S. from Rutgers and holds a certificate in event management from George Washington University.
