02/02/09

Ross University is proud to celebrate its 30th anniversary as one of the world’s preeminent providers of medical education.

Since opening in 1978, Ross University School of Medicine has graduated nearly 6,500 doctors. Located in Dominica in the Caribbean, medical school graduates of Ross have gone into virtually every specialty of medicine, including transplant nephrology, invasive cardiology, plastic surgery, pulmonary medicine, cardiovascular, neonatology, endocrinology, rheumatology, geriatric medicine, infectious diseases, and hematology/oncology. The success of Ross alumni is a true testament to the rigor of our medical training as well as a testament to the character and attitude of our students.

We at Ross are also proud of the options we are able to provide our students. We currently offer more clinical rotation spots in the United States than any medical school in the world, with over 5,000 opportunities available at more than 70 institutions nationwide. After graduation, our students are eligible to practice medicine in all 50 U.S. states and 10 provinces of Canada upon successful completion of the requisite licensing examinations.

In addition, our School of Veterinary Medicine recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. Founded in 1982, the school has since graduated more than 2,200 students who have gone on to fulfill their dreams of becoming doctors of veterinary medicine. Our graduates have gone into a wide variety of specialties, including small animal, mixed animal and large animal private practice, zoo animal practice, wildlife management, equine racing, public health, research, food safety and public service, among others. The School of Veterinary Medicine’s campus is located in the Caribbean country of St. Kitts, and the school is affiliated with 21 American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)-accredited schools in the United States.
