Dr. Christopher Mays Urges Fellow Medical Students to Stay the Course
Describing medical school as a “massive adventure,” recent Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) graduate, Christopher Mays, MD’20, advises current and future Rossies to stay the path no matter what.
“This is an undertaking that not many people get to go through in their life,” explained Christopher, who recently matched at his number one rank — Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine’s Internal Medicine program in Huntington, West Virginia. “Keep pushing through any mental, physical and emotional challenges. Show up every day and bring your best and you’ll get a great educational experience. It’s such an honor to get to this point and worth every moment of struggle and heartache.”
Born and raised in Kentucky, Christopher is thrilled to circle back to his roots with his new bride, a local nurse whom he met last year. “It’s great to be home,” said the Marvel movie buff. “I’d like to eventually become a pillar of the area — an outstanding hospitalist taking care of my neighbors and family friends; someone everyone can trust.”
