Reviewed at the time of registration to the Accelerated Clinical Reasoning Capstone Course

The Advance to Success grant at RUSM was created to support pre-clinical students in their preparation for and success in taking the USMLE® Step 1 and beginning their clinical rotations. The grant offers a minimum of $19,000 with a maximum of $34,000 possible by achieving key academic milestones. (All amounts in U.S. dollars)

Eligibility
  • Preclinical students who are for the June 2026 Accelerated Clinical Reasoning Capstone (“ACRC”) Elective.
  • Students registered for the June 2026 ACRC will receive this grant at the minimum level of $19,000 structured as follows:
    • $15,000 in tuition discount applicable toward tuition costs for the June 2026 ACRC.
    • Accommodation in (in the Villages at Coverley) for any assigned tier for the June 2026 ACRC (up to 10 weeks), with a value of not less than $4,000.
    • The housing grant is applicable only within RUSM campus housing at the Villages of Coverley and is non-transferable.
Grant Escalator

A student enrolled in RUSM’s ACRC with the Advance to Success grant AND who:

  1. Complete ACRC, pass the CBSE* administered in ACRC with a score of 63 or higher, or holds a prior qualifying CBSE score, and
    1. *When the CBSE is not available, an alternative exam will be provided by RUSM with a minimum passing score (MPS) published in the ACRC syllabus.
  2. Pass USMLE® Step 1 on first attempt either while enrolled in ACRC or within two (2) semesters of completing ACRC, and
  3. Begin clinical rotations no longer than 90 days after RUSM receipt of USMLE® Step 1 score;

shall be awarded, subject to continued enrollment and institutional eligibility requirements, an additional $15,000 in grants to be equally distributed between clinical science semesters six (6) through ten (10) as denoted by student’s clinical science semester designation.

The escalator defined above is stackable with the minimum grant to produce a maximum grant of $34,000.
