*RUSM has a first-time residency attainment rate of 96%, calculated as the percent of students attaining a 2025-26 residency position out of graduates or expected graduates in 2024-25 who were active applicants in the 2025 NRMP match or who attained a residency position outside the NRMP match. AUC’s first-time residency attainment rate for 2024-2025 graduates and expected graduates is 95%. SABA’s four-year residency placement rate of 97% is calculated as the percent of students attaining a residency position out of all graduates or expected graduates in 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 who were active applicants in the NRMP match or attained a residency outside the NRMP match. As of July 17, 2025, they have not published their 2025 rates. SGU’s US residency placement rate of 94% pertains to graduates over five years from 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 with the rate calculated as the total number of students/graduates who obtained a US residency divided by the total number of students/graduates who applied to a US residency program in a given year as of April 2025.
RUSM – AMP Grant
For Medical Sciences, the grant reduces tuition and administrative fees to $20,000 per semester, along with a credit covering campus housing (in the Villages at Coverley) for any assigned tier, with an approximate value of $21,000. For Clinical Sciences, the grant reduces the tuition and administrative fees for all required clinical weeks to $100,000 across all semesters.
Scholarships Accordion
General Eligibility:
Individuals must complete the Advanced Medical Preparation (AMP) program and all medical program pre-requisites through the Seshadripuram Academy for Global Excellence (SAGE), and be accepted into the RUSM MD program in any semester from September 2025 through May 2027.
Initial Award Eligibility
- Students must have successfully completed both the AMP program and the medical program prerequisites through SAGE before being accepted into Semester 1 of RUSM’s MD program. Clinical transfer students and graduates of the Medical Education Readiness Program (MERP) are ineligible for this award.
- Students who have met all requirements to secure RUSM enrollment will be automatically considered for this award. Students need not apply for this grant.
- This award cannot be combined with any other scholarship or grant.
- RUSM reserves the right to modify the terms, conditions, and availability of institutional aid at any time and without prior notice.
- There are no citizenship requirements. U.S. citizens or permanent residents are eligible if they meet all grant requirements.
- For the Medical Sciences portion of the program, the grant reduces the tuition and administrative fees (excluding the educational technology fee and health insurance fee) to $20,000 per semester. In addition, students will receive a credit covering campus housing (in the Villages at Coverley) for any assigned tier for a maximum of five Medical Sciences semesters, with an approximate value of $21,000.
- For the Clinical Sciences portion of the program, the grant reduces the tuition and administrative fees for initial registrations in required clinical weeks to $100,000 across all clinical clerkships. After $100,000 is reached, the grant would reduce tuition and administrative fees to $0 for any additional required clinical clerkships.
Continuing Award Eligibility
- Grant recipients must remain actively enrolled with RUSM to maintain eligibility. Students who are not registered for more than a year and are required to reapply for admission may no longer be eligible or may be subject to new terms and conditions.
- Dismissal or withdrawal may result in forfeiture of remaining awards.
- For Medical Sciences, students will continue receiving the grant covering tuition and administrative fees for any semester that must be repeated.
- The housing credit applies only to housing during Medical Sciences semesters and is non-transferable toward tuition or fees. The grant covers the cost of RUSM Housing (in the Villages of Coverley) for any assigned tier for a maximum of five Medical Sciences semesters. The award does not cover housing costs for any repeated semester or any Clinical Sciences semester.
- For Clinical Sciences, the grant does not cover repeated clinical clerkships or any optional clinical clerkships not required for graduation.
