Service First Award
September 2026 start
The Service First Award is a limited-time, limited-availability, application-based award created to support admitted students who demonstrate academic potential, leadership, and a passion for community service.

Award Eligibility
- $20,000 applied towards tuition equally distributed between Semester 1-5 (as defined in the student handbook)
- Limited awards available to new students entering the MD program in September 2026
- Must meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:
- Undergraduate GPA of ≥ 3.0 OR a conferred post-baccalaureate degree (Master’s or higher)
- Accepted into MD program for Semester 1 (MedOrigin and MERP completers not eligible)
- Submitted enrollment deposit or provided exemption (e.g., approved partnership)
- Meeting the criteria ensures you will be reviewed for the award but does not guarantee an award will be given. This award may be combined with other scholarships and grants at the discretion of the scholarship committee. Where other awards indicate non-stackability, an exception will be permitted for recipients of the Service First Award.
- Must submit a written statement (300 word max.) demonstrating:
- Community involvement,
- Leadership ability, and
- Passion for helping others
Continued Initial Award Eligibility
- Continuous enrollment in MD program. Students who repeat a semester will have their award paused for the duration of the repeated semester. Subsequent progression to the next semester will result in resumption of the award.
Application Process:
Eligible students will be invited to apply beginning June 2026 by emailing their statement to Scholarships@RossU.edu. Award decisions will be communicated no later than 3 weeks prior to the start of the September 2026. Awards will be granted based on committee review and aligned with regulatory requirements.
