Deidre Caskenette, MSc, obtained her Bachelor of Sciences degree in Specialized Honours in Human Kinetics with a minor in Biomedical Science from the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario. She worked in public health and practised as a kinesiologist in rehabilitative, fitness and disability claims industries. She has ten years experience in disability claims as a functional assessor, medical reports editor and quality assurance manager. She went on to complete her Master of Science degree in Clinical Human Anatomy at Western University in London, Ontario. Here, she instructed health science students (medical, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, undergraduate level and nursing students) in anatomy courses. Teaching environments included gross dissection and dry labs as well as classroom lecture and online environments. Broadening her teaching repertoire, she taught English as a second language abroad with students of all ages and levels.
Charla Corbin, a clinician and clinical skills instructor, holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, obtained from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica and Barbados respectively. Dr. Corbin has worked for the last 9 years in family medicine, with experience both in the public and private sector. During that time, she became a certified nutritionist and has given several lectures on the role of nutrition, health and its impact on chronic diseases.
