Mounia Hanzazi, MIS (Master of Information Systems), completed her Master’s degree at the University of Claremont Graduate University, Claremont, California in 2001. Upon completing her bachelor’s degree in Library Science from the Information Science School in Rabat, Morocco in 1998, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue her master’s degree in Information Systems in the United States. She was elected International Woman of the Year at the Claremont Colleges in 2000. She then returned to Morocco where she was hired as a Multimedia Librarian at Al Akhawayn University Library in Ifrane. She was head of the newly created Multimedia Information Center where she developed computer, technology and database training programs for students, staff and faculty. Two years later, on September 30, 2004, she immigrated to Toronto, Canada. In November 2004, she was hired by the Toronto Public Library (TPL). For the past sixteen years, she has held several positions within TPL, including that of: Children’s Librarian, Youth Services Specialist, Branch Head, Electronic Services and Programs Specialist, Senior Services Specialist for Computer & Library training, and Senior Branch Head.
