Professor of Biochemistry and Pharmacology
Santy Daya, PhD, received his Bachelor of Science degree from University of Durban, his MSc from Rhodes University and his PhD from the Medical University of South Africa in 1985. He was appointed Professor and Head of Pharmacology at Rhodes University in South Africa and developed a neuroscience research center where he trained several MSc and PhD students. During his time there he was awarded the Senior Fulbright Scholarship which he spent at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He also received the Bristol-Myers Squibb award for excellence in neuroscience research as well as the Senior Distinguished Teaching Award at Rhodes University. Dr. Daya has published close to 120 papers in International journals and has an H-Index of 26. In 2009, he joined Ross University as Professor of Pharmacology at the Bahamas campus and then professor of Biochemistry on the Dominica campus. Dr. Daya returned to South Africa in January 2017 to take up the post of head and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for two years. He joined Ross Barbados in February 2019.
