Biography
Dr. Vincent Rodrigues joined Ross University in 2023 as an Associate Professor of Anatomy in the Department of Medical Foundations. He has over three decades of experience teaching human anatomy to medical and dental students. His expertise includes various teaching methodologies such as problem-based learning, blended learning, didactic lectures, hands-on lab sessions, and self-directed learning activities.
Dr. Rodrigues holds a master’s degree in Human Anatomy and a doctorate in Neuroanatomy from the prestigious Manipal University (MU), India. He began his academic career as a Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy at Melaka Manipal Medical College, MU, India, where he served for 13 years, advancing to the position of Associate Professor. In recognition of his contributions to the university, he was honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award by Manipal University, India.
Before joining Ross University, Dr. Rodrigues served as a Senior Lecturer in Anatomy at the University of the West Indies, Trinidad and Tobago, for 12 years. Prior to that, he worked as an Associate Professor of Anatomy at the School of Medicine, AIMST University, Malaysia, for three years.
His research interests include the effects of stress on hippocampal and substantia nigral neurons and animal behavior, the antistress activity of indigenous plants, and medical education. He has published 33 research articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has presented his research at numerous national and international conferences. He is a member of the American Association for Anatomy and has served as a reviewer for scientific journals. Throughout his career, Dr. Rodrigues has been actively involved in faculty development activities and has served on multiple committees.
