Ross University has over 62 professors and directors working throughout all major disciplines at our campus.
Romeen Lavani is Associate Professor and Chair of Pediatrics at Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM). He was appointed to this role in May 2014. He has been a member of the faculty since 2010.
Dr. Shiva Maharaj is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin, School of Medicine with experience in Internal Medicine and a specialty in Musculoskeletal Pain Management. He obtained an MSc in Musculoskeletal Medicine from University College London with a special interest in Osteopathic Medicine. He is registered with the Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago. Dr. Maharaj is licensed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO) in MSK, Vascular and General ultrasonography.
Jessalyn Mayer, ME.d, earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, in 2010, and her Master of Arts in Education (ME.d) from Ashford University in Denver, Colorado, in 2013. She has worked in International Student Affairs and Academic Advising for the University of North Texas before relocating to Dominica to work in Student Affairs at Ross University School of Medicine.
Dr. Rhonda McIntyre is the Senior Associate Dean of External Affairs, responsible for developing and nurturing key partnerships and community engagement strategies in Barbados and the region. She most recently served as Associate Dean of Medical Sciences and was previously the Dean of the Satellite Campus in St. Kitts for RUSM. While still serving in her prior role as Director of Health Services from September 2016 she brought with her a dedication to patient advocacy while delivering expert care.
Hilary Antoniette Moore MBBS, DM (Emergency Medicine) is a graduate of the University of the West Indies Cave Hill campus for both her bachelor’s in medicine and bachelor’s in surgery and Doctorate in Emergency Medicine. Although she graduated from this campus, she completed her preclinical years at the St. Augustine campus in Trinidad and started her post graduate training in Emergency Medicine at the Mona campus in Jamaica. Dr.
Sheila Nunn, PhD, received her Bachelors of Science (honors) in Microbiology in 1987 from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom. She then studied at The Queen’s University of Belfast, where in 1992 she was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Anatomy.
Adora Otiji, MD, MPH, FAAFP, joined Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) in 2021 as an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Foundations. Dr. Otiji, a family physician from Maryland, USA, previously served as a family medicine clerkship preceptor for RUSM since 2017.
Samuel Pyrtuh, MSc, has been a faculty member in Ross University School of Medicine’s Department of Anatomy since 2012. He received a Master’s of Science (MSc) in Physical Therapy and a Master’s of Science in Medical Anatomy from Manipal University, India. His professional experience includes being a physical therapist working with patients with trauma, disabilities, and neurological deficits; as well as holding positions within rehabilitation centers and senior homes in rural communities.
