Chair, Internal Medicine

Erine Olivia Raybon-Rojas, MD ’08, is chair of Internal Medicine and a Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) alumna. In this role, Dr. Raybon-Rojas serves as the chief academic and administrative officer in the Internal Medicine specialty for RUSM, including advising the clinical faculty and monitoring the specialty’s medical education program at each RUSM-affiliated site to ensure academic excellence in the discipline.

Dr. Sean Reid
Assistant Chair and Professor, Department of Medical Foundations
Dr. Sean Reid’s Ph.D. was awarded in 2000 by the Pennsylvania State University for research into the evolution of enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli.

Simulation Coordinator

Sherriann Reid has extensive experience in ultrasound, cardiac sonography, simulation and the use of standardized patients. She started her medical career in 1994 when she received her Associates of Science degree in Cardiovascular Technology from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA which included performing EKGs, Stress Tests, and Echocardiograms. She is a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Dr. Marek Rudnicki
Clinical Chair Surgery

Dr. Marek Rudnicki was appointed Clinical Chair of Surgery in May 2019.  He will provide leadership, supervision and guidance and be responsible for all educational efforts of the Department of Surgery, as well as providing support to junior and mid-level faculty.  Dr. Rudnicki will continue to serve as Surgery Residency Site Program Director at the University of Illinois/Metropolitan Group Hospitals and the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago.  He will report directly to Dr. Seeth Vivek, Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences.

Assistant Professor, Department of Clinical Foundations

Christina Salama, PhD graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and art history. She earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in clinical neuropsychology from Georgia State University. Dr. Salama completed her doctoral internship in Neuropsychology and Pediatric Consultation and a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Rachel Scott
Instructor, Academy for Teaching and Learning

Before joining Ross University School of Medicine in 2015, Scott spent more than 20 years teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), providing ESOL teacher training, and facilitating Educational Technology skills training internationally.

Solanki
Assistant Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Medical Foundations

Ranjan Solanki, MBBS, MD is a medical educator with more than 18 years of teaching experience in Pathology. He is a compassionate award-winning professor and author of numerous articles. Besides teaching pathology to graduate and undergraduate students, Dr. Solanki has been involved in the fields of clinical pathology, histopathology, cytopathology, and hematology.

Manager, Standardized Patient program

Desiree A. Stelly has been a part of the medical community for over 20 years; she has served in multiple capacities: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Laboratory Specialist and Phlebotomist, Kid Med Coordinator (Kid- med Certified), Clinic Manager, Hospice RN, Clinic Director of Nursing, and Nurse Educator. Desiree began her career in 1993 after graduating with her Bachelors of Science in 1993. After hurricane Katrina, these were times of remarkable evolution in the highly regulated state and federal mandated medical world.

Carlista Tavernier-Durand
Director, Academy for Teaching and Learning

Carlista Tavernier-Durand, MD, is the director of the Academy for Teaching and Learning (ATL). Most recently, she served as an assistant professor for ATL. She began her academic career in Dominica and then moved to the United States where she completed her undergraduate years at Iowa State University, graduating with a BSc in Psychology. She then undertook postgraduate studies at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine, graduating with distinction in 2010.

Chikere Thomas
Counselor
Chikere Thomas, MSc, is a Registered Counseling Psychologist. Chikere received her education and training from The University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus. She also obtained education and training from the UWI Open Campus, UWI St. Augustine Campus and University of the Southern Caribbean. Prior to joining Ross University School of Medicine, Ms. Thomas held positions as a Counseling Psychologist, a Researcher, a School Social Worker and a Guidance Counselor.
Dr. Seeth Vivek
Clinical Chair Psychiatry, Associate Dean for Clinical Sciences Chairman

On May 6, 2019, Dr. Seeth Vivek was appointed as Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences by Dr. William Owen, Dean and Chancellor of Ross University Medical School. He continues to serve as Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry. He is tasked with the responsibility of ensuring quality and reliable uniformity of medical student education at the various clinical sites of RUSM.

Dr. Vivek has been a leader in the field of Psychiatry as a Clinician, an Educator and an Administrator.
