We Look Forward to Welcoming You Back to Campus
Thanks to those who completed the Pulse Check Survey about your return to Barbados for the January 2021 term. We are excited that you have shown interest in returning to Barbados and we look forward to welcoming you to island soon.
We know you still have many questions, and we are here to help. If you haven’t yet, please review the frequently asked questions (FAQs) section on our Return-to-Campus webpage . You can find answers to a variety of topics including COVID-19 testing, the charter flight to Barbados, student cost, quarantine at Coverley, safety protocols and travel during the May break. We will update this section frequently so please check back often.
In preparation for your return, we need you to complete two surveys. The first is an initial assessment of your travel plans, followed by a more detailed account.

TRAVEL DETAILS
Arrival Date — January 4, 2021 — in Miami or in Barbados
If you travel to Miami in route to Barbados, try to arrive by 11 am ET to ensure efficiency in the COVID-19 testing process. If you travel directly to Barbados, please remember to get your PCR COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to departure.
Ticket / Entry Requirements
If you are traveling directly to Barbados (not taking the charter flight), please note the country of Barbados requires a round-trip ticket for all visitors. If you do not have your Barbados student visa stamp in your passport, the length of your stay is dependent on your passport country. Your travel agent should be able to provide details. Please review length of stay and entry visa requirements.
If you have your Barbados student visa, be prepared to show this when checking in for your flight and again, upon arrival to Barbados. Likewise, international students who have a Barbados entry visa should also be prepared to display it before departure and upon arrival. Please email [email protected] for any questions about this requirement.
For Canadian students who prefer to travel to Miami for the charter flight, RUSM will provide a travel letter that will outline the purpose of your trip. Please email [email protected] to request a letter.
SUGGESTED GUIDELINES
Before Booking Your Flight
Discuss refund and change-of-ticket options with your airline carrier in case of travel interruptions or unexpected changes. Review your passport country’s entry visa and length of stay requirements.
After Booking Your Flight
Complete our Flight Information Form by 8 am AST on December 19, 2020. Be prepared to upload a copy of your itinerary with a file name using this format: Lastname_Firstname_Itinerary (i.e., Smith_Joe_Itinerary.pdf).
Complete the housing application on the housing portal. If you are requesting to quarantine with someone, there is also a roommate request form on the portal. Ensure the other person also completes the form with your name (limit two people per house).
And, don’t forget to schedule your annual flu shot and upload documentation to Complio.
