About Ross University School of Medicine

Health systems serve the world best when they reflect more of the world. Since our founding in 1978, Ross University School of Medicine (Ross Med) has been providing students with the foundation they need to pursue successful careers in medicine.

Our MD Program

Intentionally designed to produce doctors who are committed to serving diverse communities. Grounded in evidence, our program reflects advancements and best practices in medical education and will better prepare our students in their role as a physician working with dynamic, inter-professional teams. Our holistic admissions philosophy and student support systems widen the pathway for aspiring physicians, and our hands-on from the start approach produces doctors who have the practical knowledge and skills to make a positive impact early in their careers.

We’re educating healthcare professionals who bring energy and diverse perspectives to healing the world.

RUSM Campus

A Vibrant Campus on Barbados

Ross Med’s campus is located on the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados, where as a Ross Med student, you’ll be immersed in this vibrant community as you complete your medical sciences curriculum during your first two years of medical school. After that, your clinical rotations—the majority of your training—will be completed in the United States at leading teaching hospitals across the country.

Fostering a Diverse and Supportive Community

As an institution, Ross Med seeks to increase access to medical education for people from a variety of backgrounds—because when our healthcare professionals reflect the diversity of the communities they care for, our healthcare systems become more innovative and compassionate.
