Before You Apply
Below you will find a list of items that Ross University considers requirements to have a valid application to our med school.
Eligibility and Requirements
Admission to Ross Med includes submitting all college level or higher coursework and we will determine your cumulative GPA and GPA in the required pre-medical coursework. We evaluate your application using several factors, not just your GPA. You can contact our Admissions team to find out if you qualify for the Ross Med MD program.
To meet medical school admission requirements, Ross Med requires that all U.S. applicants* take the Medical College Admissions Test® (MCAT®). Canadian and international applicants are not required to submit MCAT scores, but are strongly encouraged to do so.
At the same time, Ross Med does not have a minimum required MCAT score for our applicants. Instead, your application will be considered holistically—meaning your MCAT score will be weighed alongside other factors.
You may apply to Ross Med before sitting for the MCAT but will need to submit your MCAT scores prior to your admission interview.
Use our Online MCAT Guide to learn more about the MCAT and find upcoming test dates.
You’re always welcome to reach out to our Admissions Office to discuss your personal situation and get a better idea of your potential candidacy as a Ross Med student. You can also take our Admissions Assessment to learn more about the strength of your candidacy at Ross Med.
*Ross Med requires MCAT scores submitted by all U.S. Citizens, nationals, or eligible permanent resident applicants prior to the interview.
Upon admission to Ross Med, you must have a bachelor’s degree or higher and have completed the below courses within the last ten years.
*Substitutions and/or exceptions for med school prerequisites are made on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Admissions Dean and Faculty Admissions Committee.
Please take our Admissions Assessment test to determine whether you might be a good fit for RUSM.
Connect with a Ross Med alum or current student. Get your questions answered, expand your professional network, and build your relationships with Rossies who have been through the program and can give you the inside scoop and tips for transitioning through school.
If you completed your undergraduate studies in countries that have an educational system different from that of the United States or Canada, please note that a completed pre-medical curriculum comparable to that completed by U.S. and Canadian students is a prerequisite for admission to our program.
Your application will be evaluated on your merits, and our admissions advisors can help you get started. Please contact us with any questions you may have about the program or requirements for admission.
