AUC’s first-time residency attainment rate for 2024-2025 graduates and expected graduates is 95%. SABA’s four-year residency placement rate of 97% is calculated as the percent of students attaining a residency position out of all graduates or expected graduates in 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 who were active applicants in the NRMP match or attained a residency outside the NRMP match. As of July 17, 2025, they have not published their 2025 rates. SGU’s US residency placement rate of 94% pertains to graduates over five years from 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 with the rate calculated as the total number of students/graduates who obtained a US residency divided by the total number of students/graduates who applied to a US residency program in a given year as of April 2025.

Biography
Chikere Thomas is a Registered Counseling Psychologist. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Chikere received her education and training from The University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus. She also obtained education and training from The UWI Open Campus, The UWI St. Augustine Campus and University of the Southern Caribbean.
Chikere took great pride in joining Ross University School of Medicine and remains enthusiastic about her roles and responsibilities. Prior to joining Ross University School of Medicine, Mrs. Thomas held positions as a School Counseling Psychologist, a Counseling Psychologist, a Researcher, a School Social Worker and a Guidance Counselor.
Chikere strives to establish and maintain a collaborative and authentic therapeutic alliance with all clients. Authenticity is a key component of her work, as such Chikere utilizes both skills, and when needed judicial self-disclosure to help her clients achieve therapeutic goals. She is passionate about helping individuals improve their well-being, heal and thrive. Her therapeutic approach to counseling is eclectic. Chikere utilizes varied traditional and non- traditional modalities and techniques throughout her practice, including Compassion Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy and Lifespan Integration Therapy. Through her training and work experiences, she has worked with clients from diverse backgrounds and marginalized communities.
