Ms. Nicole Shillingford was named Chief of Staff in September 2011 and reports to RUSM Chancellor and Dean, Dr. Joseph Flaherty. She is a member of the Dean’s Cabinet.
Ms. Shillingford is responsible for the activities of the Office of the Dean and directs the office in areas of administration and institutional initiatives. She works closely with the Dean’s Cabinet, senior leadership, department chairs, faculty, students, and external constituents on matters related to institutional policies, strategies and processes.
She joined RUSM in March 2008 as Director of Administrative Affairs based on the Dominica campus. In that role, she managed the Events and Customer Service and Communications departments in addition to supervising the entire campus administrative support staff. She directed the day-to-day activities for the Office of the Senior Associate Dean, including budget oversight and functioned as campus lead for many cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives in collaboration with university leadership based in the United States.
Prior to joining RUSM, Ms. Shillingford worked as the US Marketing Manager for Villeroy & Boch, an international brand and manufacturer of premium goods. Her prior work experience includes marketing and finance roles at Fortune 500 companies and business development and marketing experience early in her career at Montefiore Medical Center, a large healthcare system in the Northeast.
Ms. Shillingford holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics with a concentration in management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She earned her Master of Business Administration in business administration from Instituto de Empresa, a leading European business school in Madrid, Spain.
She lives in Sunrise, Florida.
