Biography
Dr. Sanghita Mallik is an accomplished medical professional and educator with extensive experience in clinical medicine, medical education, and curriculum development. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at Ross University School of Medicine since 2008. With a career spanning over three decades, Dr. Mallik has worked in diverse medical roles, including Emergency Medicine Physician, Family Practitioner, and Clinical Skills Director. Her vast experience and dedication to medical education have shaped her role as a mentor and facilitator for students across multiple disciplines.

Dr. Mallik has played an integral role in developing and enhancing clinical skills programs at RUSM. She has designed and facilitated small-group sessions, helping students refine their clinical reasoning, medical interviewing, and physical examination skills. Additionally, she has been a lead facilitator for the Harvey Program, a cardiopulmonary patient simulator training students in diagnosing and managing heart conditions.
As an educator, she has been involved in team-based learning,Clinical Skills sessions, Radiology sessions, Remediation programs and serves as a Module Director ensuring students acquire a strong foundation in clinical medicine.
Beyond academia, Dr. Mallik has held multiple clinical roles in emergency medicine, pediatrics, and orthopedics across several countries, including India, Fiji, St. Lucia, and Samoa. As a Senior Medical Officer in Pediatrics and promoted to Registrar in Outpatient clinic, Emergency Medicine at St. Jude Hospital in St. Lucia, she managed neonatal resuscitation, trauma cases, and critical care scenarios.
She has also worked as a General Practitioner and Assistant Surgeon, assisting in surgical procedures such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and orthopedic surgeries. Her extensive hands-on experience in patient care has enriched her teaching, providing students with real-world clinical insights.
Dr. Mallik is deeply committed to community service and public health initiatives. She has actively participated in health fairs, diabetes clinics, and hypertension awareness campaigns in collaboration with medical organizations and student associations. She volunteered as a physician for the Salybia Mission Project, providing healthcare services to the Kalinago indigenous community in Dominica.
