Shanae Gill, MBBS, was trained at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad & Tobago and returned to Barbados to complete her Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). In 2013 she went on to obtain a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health (DRH) from the University of Liverpool where she also received certification in Adolescent Health and Obstetric Emergencies in Low Income Settings. She is currently enrolled in the Masters of Public Health (MPH) program specializing in Health Services Management with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Gill has worked as a general practitioner in Barbados and has also worked with the Ministry of Health as a Clinical Medical Officer in HIV Medicine. In 2013 she began lecturing at the American University of Barbados School of Medicine where she taught Microbiology and Immunology. In 2015 she became the Medical Director of the Barbados Family Planning Association working closely with adolescent health and HIV/STIs nationally. Most recently, she has worked as a Consultant with United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the area of HIV in Barbados.
