AUC’s first-time residency attainment rate for 2024-2025 graduates and expected graduates is 95%. SABA’s four-year residency placement rate of 97% is calculated as the percent of students attaining a residency position out of all graduates or expected graduates in 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 who were active applicants in the NRMP match or attained a residency outside the NRMP match. As of July 17, 2025, they have not published their 2025 rates. SGU’s US residency placement rate of 94% pertains to graduates over five years from 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 with the rate calculated as the total number of students/graduates who obtained a US residency divided by the total number of students/graduates who applied to a US residency program in a given year as of April 2025.
Biography
Dr. Gundrum obtained his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Toledo. He then pursued post-graduate training in Primary Care, with a focus on Family Medicine, at the Medical University of South Carolina. Following this, Dr. Gundrum worked in a Family Practice center and residency program, where he was responsible for direct patient care as well as developing an education and training curriculum for physicians, residents, and students. During this time, he received numerous awards from Family Medicine residents in recognition of his contributions.
After several years of experience in administrative pharmacy services, Dr. Gundrum returned to academic practice at the University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC), where he spent the next decade. At UTMC, he developed clinical pharmacy practice services across various specialties, including internal medicine, endocrinology, critical care, neurology, oncology, transplant, orthopedic surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery. He also provided oversight and education in cardiology, nephrology, and infectious diseases. In addition to these roles, Dr. Gundrum served as the Residency Program Director for the institution’s post-graduate training program for pharmacists and collaborated on creating an educational curriculum for medical and surgical residents at UTMC.
More recently, Dr. Gundrum established a clinical practice and teaching site in a large Level 1 emergency and trauma center. He has held academic appointments at multiple Colleges of Pharmacy and Colleges of Nursing across the U.S.
Dr. Gundrum joined Ross University School of Medicine in 2020 and serves as the Discipline Lead for Pharmacology. He is a Co-Course Director for the third semester. His areas of expertise in pharmacology include endocrine, gastrointestinal, infectious disease, cardiology, oncology, and neurology.
