The people who make up Ross University are truly a family, so we understand that for you to be successful as a medical school student, your family’s needs have to be met. Which is why the University is committed to providing our students, faculty, and staff with access to excellent child care options that meet their educational and developmental requirements. Many Ross students who bring their families with them to Barbados take advantage of one or both of the childcare options offered on campus—the Early Learning Center (six weeks to pre-K), and the Preparatory School (pre-K through eighth grade).
The Early Learning Center (ELC) is a truly special place where your child can learn, explore, and grow.
The mission of the ELC is to provide a nurturing, child-focused, stimulating activities program, and play-based learning is the very foundation of the center’s innovative pre-school curriculum. Parents are encouraged to take an active role in their children’s development, and receive daily progress reports and updates. And the ELC’s secure, campus-based facility provides both peace of mind and convenience.
Learning and community go hand-in-hand at the Ross University School of Medicine Preparatory School.
The mission of the Preparatory School is to provide a dynamic educational experience for school-aged children (pre-K through eighth grade) of Ross medical school students, faculty, and staff. The curriculum is based on U.S. curricula and practices, and is delivered by highly credentialed, caring teachers who have a passion for student success; continuous learning; critical thinking; and creating collaborative relationships with students, their families, and the community. Conveniently located on-campus, parents are frequent visitors and are highly encouraged to get involved in school activities.
A Family Affair
The dedicated Early Learning Center and Preparatory School staff are committed to providing the best educational experience possible for their students, and look forward to welcoming you and your child to their school family!
