*RUSM has a first-time residency attainment rate of 96%, calculated as the percent of students attaining a 2025-26 residency position out of graduates or expected graduates in 2024-25 who were active applicants in the 2025 NRMP match or who attained a residency position outside the NRMP match. AUC’s first-time residency attainment rate for 2024-2025 graduates and expected graduates is 95%. SABA’s four-year residency placement rate of 97% is calculated as the percent of students attaining a residency position out of all graduates or expected graduates in 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 who were active applicants in the NRMP match or attained a residency outside the NRMP match. As of July 17, 2025, they have not published their 2025 rates. SGU’s US residency placement rate of 94% pertains to graduates over five years from 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 with the rate calculated as the total number of students/graduates who obtained a US residency divided by the total number of students/graduates who applied to a US residency program in a given year as of April 2025.
Barbados Scholarship
Ross University School of Medicine is proud to partner with the Barbados government by offering a Barbados Scholarship! We are proud to support the aspirations of Barbadian citizens who dream of becoming doctors. This need-based scholarship covers the cost of medical school tuition (excluding fees) for up to eleven (11) semesters (~$292,759) and a campus housing grant ($21,210 – $25,410 depending on Tier) that covers up to five (5) semesters of campus housing at the Villages of Coverley. A maximum of two (2) scholarships can be awarded per term, with a maximum of six (6) scholarships available per fiscal year on a first-come, first-served basis. (All amounts in U.S. dollars)
- Individuals must be citizens of Barbados who have maintained residency in Barbados for the last seven years. Resident citizens of Barbados who study overseas on special visas will be considered to have maintained residency in Barbados.
- Must be accepted to Ross University School of Medicine’s first semester.
- Accepted students must complete and submit the scholarship application form no later than six weeks prior to the first day of class.
- The RUSM Admissions Office will evaluate student applications and the Ministry of Education will certify student eligibility.
Retention of all scholarships and grants requires full-time, continuous enrollment status and remain in good standing (as defined in RUSM’s Student Handbook – Academic | Academic Standing & Progress) on a semester basis. Multi-semester scholarships will not be disbursed for any semester the recipient repeats (excluding campus housing grant at Villages of Coverley) during eligible semesters. A scholarship will be reinstated for the subsequent semester upon promotion for eligible students attending eligible semesters not to exceed the total award amount.
