MedOrigin is designed to seamlessly integrate core medical school concepts with targeted study strategies, offering students an opportunity to enhance their academic skills in the context of foundational medical education. Offered prior to the first semester and on island, the course emphasizes both cognitive and non-cognitive factors critical to the successful completion of medical school.

Initial Award Eligibility
  • Any RUSM applicant who has been selected for the MedOrigin course as a condition of their progression into the semester 1 MD curriculum.  The bridge program may be subject to enrollment limitations. 
  • Students who are accepted into the MedOrigin program and have met all requirements to secure enrollment through deposit or exemption (e.g., ) for their place will be automatically considered for this award; students need not apply for this scholarship.
  • This award cannot be combined with other scholarships/grants, unless otherwise allowed by other scholarship/grant criteria. If a higher award is available for this program, the higher award will be applied.
  • Students meeting these criteria will be reviewed for the scholarship and will qualify as follows:
    • Students with a US country of residence will receive a 30% scholarship of MedOrigin course tuition and administrative fees
    • Students with a country of residence outside of the US will receive a 50% scholarship of MedOrigin course tuition and administrative fees
