Dr. Ramon Walcott transitioned to the role of an Instructor of Biochemistry in August 2025, after serving as a Clinical Skills Facilitator since June 2023 at RUSM. In his previous role, he guided students through small group sessions, simulation-based learning, and the performance of clinical examinations, thereby fostering the development of essential skills for medical practice.
A physician with a strong foundation in surgical care, Dr. Walcott previously worked in the Department of Surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital as well as in a private ambulatory surgery and birthing centre. He has also provided medical coverage for sporting events, including cricket and motorsports, and is experienced in training healthcare providers to become Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
With a career that has spanned aspects of preclinical and clinical medicine, Dr. Walcott brings a wealth of experience and perspective to medical education. His teaching is informed by his commitment to patient care and also providing a safe and effective learning environment for future clinicians.
