Cordelle Lazare, MD, MMed, MPH

Biography
Dr. Lazare earned his Medical Degree from Nanchang University before pursuing post-graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tongji Hospital - Tongji Medical College at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. His time in China also sparked his interest in research, which he further explored at the Key Laboratory of Cancer Invasion and Metastasis. Upon returning to the Caribbean, Dr. Lazare recognized the growing need for physicians with training in public health. This led him to pursue a Master of Public Health at St. George’s University, specializing in Health Policy and Administration.
In recent years, Dr. Lazare has dedicated his career to research, with a particular focus on cervical cancer and sexual and reproductive health. He has collaborated with key stakeholders to influence public health policy, including conducting research on medical perspectives on abortion and abortion laws in his home country of Dominica.
In 2025, Dr. Lazare joined Ross University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor in the Office of External Affairs. His areas of expertise include gynecologic oncology, health policy, and sexual and reproductive health.
