As of July 17, 2025, they have not published their 2025 rates. SGU’s US residency placement rate of 94% pertains to graduates over five years from 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 with the rate calculated as the total number of students/graduates who obtained a US residency divided by the total number of students/graduates who applied to a US residency program in a given year as of April 2025.
Heidi Chumley, MD, MBA
Biography
Dr. Chumley has a 25 year history in medical education including both allopathic and international medical schools. Prior to her current role as COO, she served as Dean, RUSM from 2021-2024, Dean at American University of the Caribbean from 2013-2021, and Senior Associate Dean / Associate Vice Chancellor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine from 2008-2012.
She was recently selected for the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine’s (STFM) Bishop society, which recognizes senior leaders in Family Medicine. She also received the STFM President’s Award for leading the taskforce that created the first national (US) Family Medicine Clerkship Curriculum. She is an editor of the textbooks Color Atlas in Family Medicine, Color Atlas in Internal Medicine, and Color Atlas for Pediatrics.
